Within 15 hours of posting my previous blog "Little Girl Lost - Tracie L. Post" we've FOUND her....all because of blogging. What an up and down day yesterday was...I posted the post about Tracie, wishing her a happy birthday, and am so glad that I used this medium to send these wishes even though I did not know if she would ever see the blog.
Please read the "Little Girl Lost...." first to get the entire gist of the story. The finding all came about as a direct result of the first story I posted. My other niece, who lives in another country, read the blog, did some detective work and within an hour she had a married name for Tracie. She then took that name to Facebook and put it in their 'search' and, voila, up came Tracie! It was under Tracie Post _________. Now mind you, I've searched before under Tracie L Post, Tracie (middle name) Post, and just Tracie Post only to meet dead-ends. 2nd niece went to the same site I had gone to http://www.peoplesearch.com/ to find Tracie (I used this service about 10 years ago and paid them...but the address given for her was at least 3 years old), I had also tried it the night I posted this article just in case, and there was no further info than what I had seen before so I did not opt to pay for additional info again. Somehow niece2 came up with a married name for Tracie from this peoplesearch site....I still do not know how....it does not show it for me (she tells me she DID NOT pay for additional info).
Tracie and I talked for several hours yesterday afternoon and last night....both on the telephone and online. She's 'reconnected' with all my kids plus her aunt (my sister), plus a couple of her cousins in just the short time since we found out. She does not want to reconnect with her mom yet....that's ok, after talking with Tracie I totally understand.
So a BIG THANK YOU to the world of blogging that is instrumental in finding Tracie. I'm still on a fairly high 'high'....my family is complete!

I'm so happy you found your niece.
ReplyDeleteWhat a heart warming story! Congrats to all of you.
ReplyDeleteLaughing hysterically! Love the story very heart warming but that picture! OMGosh... Mom, I was probably 22, Tracie would have been 19 or 20 in that picture even though I look 16. It was taken in 1989 or 1990 when the last time I saw Tracie when she was in California. It was a 60's party I drug her too but for the life of me I do not remember who took the picture or whose house we are in.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim - it was taken in Oct. 1989 (at least that's what the back of pic says). The pic is such poor quality and I tried to sharpen it up a little but it didn't do much good. I love the pic tho! I thought it was 1987 or 1988 when last we saw Tracie, but I don't think this date lies. You would be 21, she 19. I love the memory it brought back.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great story and wonderful ending. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteAwesome ending. Congratulations on being reunited. I have had some that I wish I could find. Maybe I will try again.
