Until tonight I had never heard of this site but upon going there I had some great fun checking out what happened on or around certain dates - interesting info and a great way to waste a few hours and have some fun.
I selected my grandparents wedding date, although I would have liked to do my great-grandparents wedding date instead I discovered that the information provided was too sparse. My grandparents Elmer David Troyer/Mary Maria Motzko married not too long after the 20th century began on September 10, 1908 (just a week before my grandmother's 24th birthday). How convenient were their birthday/wedding dates - no excuse to forget - Anniversary Sept 10; Birthday Grandpa - September 4; Birthday Grandma - September 17. My mother Margaret Troyer (grandma's daughter died the day after the anniversary of Grandma's birthday-although many years after her death).
Anyway here's what went on during the years that Grandma and Grandpa were courting, marrying, and starting a family:

You really did a lot of home work. Sounds like fun and puts them in perspective as to what world they were looking at.
