As we gear up for the beginning of the 2010 Winter Olympics I am reminded of the 1984 Summer Olympics in southern California. The games start today - February 12 and run through the end of the month...they are being held in an bordering United States city, Vancouver B.C., Canada. The 1984 Olympic Torch Relay ended in Los Angeles, after traveling 33 states plus the District of Columbia. The torch was continuously carried by runners on foot.
We had the privilege of having the torch runners within a couple blocks of our home in Lakewood California. We all bundled up and went and sat on a street corner and watched them run by. What fun it was....LET THE FUN BEGIN.
